Quotation or proforma invoice?

A quotation tells a customer what the goods will cost. A proforma invoice looks like an invoice and is often needed to get a payment approved, but it is not a receipt or a tax invoice. StockDesk makes both from the same details; you choose which one to send.

How it works

What the document shows

Your shop name, logo, address and phone; a number such as QT-00012 or PF-00013; the date and the "valid until" date; each item with quantity, price and amount; discount, VAT and the total; and your notes, such as delivery time or payment terms.

Every quote in one place

See which quotes are open, which have expired, which were sold and which were cancelled. Search by customer name or number, and send a quote again with one tap.

Questions

Is a proforma invoice a tax invoice?

No. A proforma invoice is a price document sent before payment. The receipt from the sale is the record of payment.

Does sending a quote reserve the stock?

No. Stock only changes when the quote is sold in the till, so you can send many quotes without blocking your shelves.

Can I change a quote after sending it?

Yes, while it is still open. The customer's link always shows the latest version. Once it is sold or cancelled it can no longer be changed.

Can my staff make quotes?

Yes. Everyone at the counter can make, send and sell quotes, and the activity log records who made or cancelled each one.
